2019 Rally del Friuli Venezia Giulia highlights
Organised in the Frioul region in the north-est of Udine, the 2019 rally del Friuli Venezia Giulia is the fifth round of Italian tarmac championship. Nine R5 are engaged, among which one Citroën C3 R5, with crew Luca Rossetti - Eleonora Mori (F.P.F. Sport SRL), originated from the area with a good knowledge of these tarmac roads.
After a first day composed of 4 stages (SS2 has been cancelled), two drivers are battlign hard for the lead of the rally. Simone Campedelli (Ford Fiesta MKII) joins the parc fermé with a 0.5s lead on Luca Rossetti (Citroën C3 R5). The duo has created a 16s break over the third position.
During last day, Luca Rossetti (Citroën C3 R5) increases his pace early on, takes over the lead in SS6 and extends this gap in SS7 and SS8. At the end, the italian Citroën crew Luca Rossetti - Eleonora Mori wins the rally del Friuli Venezia Giulia 2019 ahead of A.Crugnola et G.Basso (Skoda Fabia R5).
With two podiums and a victory in 2019 in Citroën C3 R5, Luca Rossetti - Eleonora Mori currently hold second place in the Italian championship, while Citroën holds first place in the manufacturer championship, ahead of Ford.
