Summary of the Rally Lyon-Charbonnières-Rhône 2019
Organized in France in Beaujolais from April 18 to 20, 2019, the Lyon-Charbonnières-Rhône rally is the second round of the French asphalt rally championship. As usual, it is full with more than 18 R5 at the start, including the Citroen C3 R5 Yoann Bonato, winner here last year, and Yohan Rossel, engaged in its official program 2019.
Yoann Bonato asserts himself in the first stage by signing five scratch times out of seven possible and taking the lead, with more than 20s in advance. Behind, the fight for second place is raging. A trio consisting of Q.Gilbert (VW Polo R5), Q.Giordano (Hyundai I20 R5) and Y.Rossel (Citroen C3 R5) stands in 1.5s.
After having scored four scratch times at the start of the second stage, Yoann Bonato and Benjamin Boulloud intelligently managed their lead to win the 71st Lyon-Charbonnières-Rhône rally and thus take the lead in the French championship. Rising through the stages, Yohann Rossel and Benoït Fulcrand scored three scratch times and took second place on the line, in the final rally ES, after a great battle with Q.Gilbert.
