After posting a high level of performance at the Rallye Tierras Altas de Lorca, Pepe Lopez didn't miss the boat and scored his first victory on asphalt with Citroën C3 R5. The car managed by the Sports&You team was efficient and reliable throughout the event. Falcón Emma and González Delgado Eduardo were also engaged in C3 R5 on this rally.

Held in Andalusia north of Cordoba, the Sierra Morena Rally had 10 R5s at the start, including 2 Citroën C3 R5s, foreshadowing a tight battle for the final victory.
After a first day of 4 special events (ES), three drivers managed to widen the gap. Ivan Ares (Hyundai R5) leads followed closely by Pepe Lopez (Citroën C3 R5) at 2.9s. José Suarez (Hyundai R5) is third with an 18.5s delay.
Pepe Lopez took the lead again at the beginning of the second day of the rally, with 5 consecutive scratch times (ES5 to 9). He pushed back his first pursuer to more than 10s, a gap that will never be caught by Ivan Ares. In the end, Citroen C3 R5 won with a margin of more than 16s at the end of the 190 kilometres of the rally.
