"What an emotion to be at the finish line of this rally. All admitted, starting with a certain Sébastien Loeb, that this was the most complicated edition of the Monte-Carlo in which they had participated. Apart from the last day we were able to put four slicks on the car, we spent our time making choices of corner tires and facing a constantly changing road between dry, wet, ice, snow... It was a real Monte-Carlo!
So when the result is at the end, it's just great. It could have been perfect without this puncture on the third day which most certainly deprives us of the first place of the R5s, ahead of the official Ford crew, but we can still be satisfied with this victory in WRC2 and this eighth place overall! We were in the lead from the first to the last stage and managed to avoid all the pitfalls to win our first WRC2 victory, but also the C3 R5 !
The CHL Sport Auto team, supported by Citroën Racing, also did a great job by providing us with a reliable and high-performance car to complete these four days of intense racing. And how can we not thank, with Benjamin, the work of our ushers, Alex and Christophe, who have not been idle under these conditions. It's a real team victory this weekend and I want to thank them.
For our partners who support us and with whom we are working to put together a great program in 2019, it was also nice to appear twice on television, live on Canal+ in clear, Saturday noon and Sunday noon. Between the World Championship and the French Championship, we now have a great deal of media coverage which, I hope, will allow us to finalize our upcoming season in the coming days. »
