Concentrating all of its resources on its return as a works team in the FIA World Rally Championship, Citroën Racing will not be organising promotional formulas in France in 2017. Obviously, the customer racing department will continue to provide Racing Shop department customers that have chosen models from the Citroën Racing range with technical support.

Since the early 1980s, Citroën has regulary organised promotional formulas in France, from the Visa Trophy to the Citroën and the Citroën Racing Trophy Junior. At the end of the 2016 season, this activity will be put on hold, in line with the strategy defined for Citroën Racing.

Of course, the Racing Shop department will continue to sell the existing range of products, whilst also providing advice and technical support  to owners of DS 3 R1s, R3s, R3-MAXs and R5s. Similarly, spare parts for these models - as well as the various  versions of C2 - will continue to be available.

The winner of the Citroën Racing Trophy, who will be confirmed  at the end of the Rallye du Var (24-27 November), will be rewarded by a six-race programme in next year's WRC-3 behind the  wheel of a DS 3 R3 MAX.

Citroën Racing has begun preliminary studies of new models intended for customer racing and based on the New Citroën C3. This range will become available at some point during 2018.

Yves Matton, Citroën Racing Team Principal : "For more than 30 years, Citroën has invested heavily in identifying and training talented young drivers. In France, the organisation of promotional formulas has enabled many talented young drivers to be found, who have then gone on to pursue careers at the highest level of the sport. With its return to the WRC, Citroën Racing is preparing to take on one of the most exciting challenges in its history. At the same time, we have come to the end of cycle for the Citroën Racing Trophy and Citroën Racing Trophy Junior promotional formulas. We have therefore decided to discontinue this activity in 2017, so that we can concentrate all of our energy on our main goal. This is not the first time that this has happened at Citroën and we will maintain some continuity by offering commercial and technical support to our customers. Equally, drivers who have won financial support for next season in this year's trophies will get our full support. In addition to the development of new customer racing products based on the New Citroën C3, we are thinking about new promotional formulas in order to identify the World Champions of the future."
